CommentsHello Mr. Austin, My name is Tim Gary and I appreciate your knowledgeble comments in the AWS Forum. I see that you are in the big metropolis of "Iuka".(I'm from Savannah TN myself but currently in East TN) Anyway, I was just wondering what ever happened to the Yellow Creek - NASA facility in Iuka? The last I heard was that a shipbuilder was thinking about using the facility. I get mad every time I think about all the tax dollars that have been wasted at that facility. I hope that somebody has found a use for it... If you feel like responding, I'm at tgary@xtn.net Thanks for your time, Tim Gary
CommentsHello Gerald, You have a pretty good website here. Of course I already know of your good work. As usual, thanks for all your execellent assistance & knowledge. Joe Ufnal President www.creative-cad-consultants.com
CommentsMy name is Kip Mankenberg. ASNT Lev III in UT with 20+ years in the business (seems longer sometimes). I've just downloaded your Project 1 UT calculator. Not bad, I have to say. I've been working overseas for so long, however, that I have real problems trying to think in inches anymore. If this is something that you are hoping to market, I would be happy to give you some additional feedback. Best regards, Mankenberg
CommentsMy name is Radostin Kasarov. I am Level III EN473-UT and I make programs for UT also. I have downloaded your Project 1 UT calculator. CONGRATULATIONS. Good work, I think. Good Luck. radostin_kasarov@Yahoo.com
CommentsGerald; My name is Jay Krout, I come from Schuykill Co.,PA. I checked your web page out. I read quite a few of your comments in the AWS forums, sounds to me like you know your stuff, Web page looks good too. Would like to chay with you sometime if you are not too busy Email- jaykrout@hoymail.com or jaykrout@yahoo.com Keep up the good work and best wishes J Krout
CommentsGerald, This is a good program. I would like to offer a suggestion which would make it easier for this layman to understand and use. If for each required selection there was the option of a pull down menu with some of the selections available or an "other" where user specific can be added? I am not sure how much additional programming this would require. Excellent program. Joseph Ufnal President Creative CAD Consultants Inc. Gardner, MA 01440 (508) 752-3548
CommentsThe Welding Calculator is a pretty useful little program. One suggestion, and I think that it was already alluded to, is that it would be nice to have both US Customary and Metric units. In the current version, it would be nice to see what units some of the calculations and input dimensions are in. Thanks for the program, Richard Perry Welding Engineering Technology student, Northern College priamsvision@hotmail.com
CommentsI found your info on aws.org I have a small fab/weld shop & maybe it will help thanks rayol71@netscape.net

CommentsEnjoyed talking with you earlier this week. I have taken your WPS Database and am tweaking it a bit for my use. One item I noted was in the tabular section of the WPS, the "electrical characteristics" section did not show on the copy sent by you. I will send you a copy of my mods when I am finished. You have a great site which I am sure is very helpful to many people. Keep up the good work! PS- have you considered a PQR section to tie in with the WPS database? CommentsMr. Austin, I like your site. Interesting & informative. I work for an industrial/environmental services company based in Memphis, TN. We do tank cleaning in TN, AR & MS and occasionally I have clients looking for help with tank inspections (we can clean them , but don't inspect or repair them). I will pass along your website in the future. If you have time & would like to chat about us helping each others business I would enjoy that. rbistolfi@hillishere.com Robert Bistolfi 901-508-5032
CommentsHey Gerald! This is Ted Corcoran. You responded to my request on the AWS site about 316L/308L. Thank you very much for the response. I came to your site to thank you because I'm not much on puttin' it out there for the whole world to see. I'm new at MIL-STD work although I've been welding for 27 years- I got laid off from the gas company here in Baltimore so API 1104 was my old book of does and don't. I've got a call in to the DCMA " government inspector" in hopes that he can direct me to where I can find this info. and a the level III that inspects my work. I'll let you know when I find out what the deal is. You mentioned that you went hunting and how cold it was down there the other day in one of your other posts- well I went rabbit hunting today and it was so cold the beagles had to use jumper cables to get the rabbit started!!!! Take care,Ted.

CommentsDear Sirs It was great . Thank you for your cooperation . I have never seen any helpful site just like yours
CommentsIt is a great site. all the best.
CommentsI'm surveying welding software packages for their ability to import data from other packages - the idea is potential need for standard data formats, e.g. for WPS/PQRs, inspection results, properties of materials, etc. (I'm an AWS committee chairman). Bill Rippey, NIST
