The Oxford Mississippi SkateparkPAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION The park opened officially on 11 Feb 06. The concrete was a little wet here and there . It was cold in the mid to lower 30's. The Mayor of Oxford, the guys from Grindline, and other people were there for the ceremony. The crowd was pretty impressive considering the weather. The concrete was VERY smooth and the layout made it very easy to flow from one area to the other. The transitions were smooth and consistent. The bowl at the shallow end is around 6' deep and is vert all the way around. There is no roll in and I didn't have the guts for dropping in. It will have to come later. Most of the coping is steel however part of the bowl contains actual concrete pool coping. A couple of older guys there along with the grindline guys gave some good demonstrations of what the bowl was for. Of course their was plenty of kickflip practice going on in the flatbottom.
